The Space

Please enter our freshly designed vacation home via the smart keyless lock and be greeted with soaring ceilings, original hardwood floors, lots of natural light, and generously sized rooms designed and styled with your comfort in mind.

LIVING AREA
The living area features a generous plush sectional, a coffee table, a nonworking wood-burning fireplace original to the home, a seating area, and a 50″ Samsung Smart TV with access to all your favorite streaming apps – the perfect cozy place for a movie night.

KITCHEN & DINING
Cook breakfast, lunch, and dinner in the fully equipped eat-in kitchen with all the gadgets, trays, dishes, and utensils you would expect to find in a family home. There is a full-size fridge/freezer, a freestanding oven and electric cooktop, a microwave, a coffee maker, and a dishwasher to cover all the cleaning up.

Serve your meals at the kitchen high-top table or gather everyone into the dining room for dinner with a table set for six and a highchair available for the little ones.

The primary bedroom offers a king bed topped with soft, premium linen and bedding, and you’ll find plenty of storage to unpack and make yourself home. Included is a crib to comfort families traveling with little ones. This bedroom has access to a private deck off the back of the home overlooking the beautiful garden.

OUTDOOR
Step out the back door onto your private patio to soak in St. Louis’s beautiful weather, or let the little ones run around the backyard. The outdoor area and garden offer gorgeous landscaping. Free street parking is available in the front of the home.

Neighborhood

The house is located in the historic Lafayette Square, considered the oldest urban park west of the Mississippi, where you can walk to world-class restaurants and sip coffee at delicious cafes and visit nearby Gateway Arch, Forest Park, and Enterprise Center—home of Stanley Cup-winning St. Louis Blues.

Like a picture out of a Victorian novel, Lafayette Park’s flowers, natural grasses, towering trees, waterfalls, fountains, and iconic iron bridges provide a peaceful backdrop to the city.

Twice yearly, the residents open their homes to the public for the ever-popular Spring and Garden Tour (first weekend in June) and the Lafayette Square Holiday Parlor Tour (second Sunday in December). Visitors even have the option to stay in one of these gloriously painted homes.

Within Lafayette, there are craft breweries; specialty shops; Park Avenue Coffee, which features original small-batch blends; quirky and one-of-a-kind restaurants; yoga and art studios; wine, chocolate, and rooftop bars; a lounge; and a must-try ice creamery.

If you are lucky enough to be in the city at the right time, there are annual neighborhood festivities that are fun to visit, including an antique fair (June); Cocktails on the Plaza (July); Movies in Lafayette Park (summer); Taste of Lafayette (August); Tour De Lafayette/Gateway Cup Bike Race (Friday before Labor Day); Tricks & Treats on Park (Saturday before Halloween); the Holiday Tree Lighting (second Saturday in December); and the Holiday Market (second Sunday in December), which features roasted chestnuts, spirits, and crafts.

Walk through the neighborhood and admire the 150-year-old two- and three-story Victorian mansions, commonly called the “painted ladies,” surrounding the lush 30-acre Lafayette Park, the oldest urban park west of the Mississippi.
